SPJP Proceedings is committed to maintaining high standards of research ethics and responsible publishing. The journal follows internationally accepted ethical guidelines established by organizations such as COPE, ICMJE, WAME, and DOAJ. All editorial and peer-review decisions are conducted with fairness, transparency, and respect for scientific integrity. The journal regularly reviews and updates its editorial and ethical policies to align with global best practices. These policies guide the entire publication process, from manuscript submission and peer review to final publication, post-publication updates, and long-term archiving, ensuring ethical compliance at every stage.

Ethical Consideration

Human Research Ethics

Research involving human participants must follow internationally accepted ethical standards, including the Declaration of Helsinki and local regulatory guidelines. Authors are required to:

• Provide Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee approval with approval number
• Confirm that informed consent (written, verbal, or waived) was obtained
• Register all prospective clinical trials in a recognized registry before enrollment
• Ensure participant privacy, confidentiality, and data protection
• For retrospective studies, clearly state whether ethical approval was obtained or waived

Animal Research Ethics

Studies involving animals must include approval from an Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) or equivalent authority. Research should follow recognized guidelines such as ARRIVE and the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals. Authors must ensure minimal pain, distress, and the least number of animals used.

All submissions to SPJP Proceedings undergo similarity checks using iThenticate/Turnitin to maintain research integrity.

• Proper citation is mandatory for all reused content

Suspected plagiarism is handled according to COPE guidelines. Based on severity, actions may include revision requests, rejection, or formal misconduct procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities

Chief Editor Responsibilities

The Chief Editor provides academic leadership and ensures the journal’s quality and ethical standards. Responsibilities include overseeing editorial policies, ensuring ethical compliance, resolving disputes, and maintaining editorial independence.

Editorial Responsibilities

Editors assess manuscripts based on scientific merit, originality, and relevance. They ensure a fair, unbiased review process, maintain confidentiality, declare conflicts of interest, and select qualified reviewers.

Author Responsibilities

Authors must submit original, accurate, and ethically conducted research. They should avoid plagiarism and duplicate publication, define author contributions, disclose funding and conflicts of interest, and report errors if identified after publication.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers provide fair and constructive feedback. They must maintain confidentiality, review only within their expertise, avoid misuse of manuscript content, and disclose conflicts of interest.

Peer Review and Manuscript Assessment

Double-Blind Peer Review

SPJP Proceedings follows a double-blind peer review system, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts. Evaluation is based on originality, scientific quality, methodology, ethical compliance, and clarity. The review process typically takes 3–5 weeks.

Revision Workflow

• Minor revision: within 5 days
• Major revision: within 10 days
• Maximum two revision rounds allowed

Revised manuscripts are reassessed by editors and reviewers when required.

Editorial Decision-Making

Final decisions (acceptance, revision, or rejection) are based on research quality, novelty, methodology, ethical compliance, reviewer feedback, and alignment with journal scope.

Research Misconduct Handling

SPJP Proceedings follows a strict zero-tolerance policy for misconduct, including plagiarism, data falsification, image manipulation, duplicate publication, and authorship issues.

• Notification to affiliated institutions

Conflict of Interest (COI) Policy

All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal conflicts of interest. For funded studies, the role of the funding agency must be clearly stated to ensure transparency.

Post-Publication Policy

To maintain accuracy in the scientific record:

• Minor errors → corrected through formal corrections
• Serious concerns → expression of concern issued
• Major ethical violations → article retraction
