Welcome to the SPJP Proceedings! To ensure a smooth submission process and uphold the quality of our publications, please adhere to the following detailed author guidelines.
1. Scope and Aims
SPJP Proceedings publishes high-quality conference proceedings in the following fields:
- Medical and Health Sciences: Research and innovations related to clinical and public health.
- Biological Sciences: Studies spanning molecular biology, ecology, and more.
- Related Disciplines: Interdisciplinary research that bridges these core areas.
Manuscripts should align with the journal’s scope and focus on advancing knowledge in these areas.
2. Manuscript Types
We accept several types of manuscripts: To ensure that your manuscript is properly reviewed and meets the publication standards of SPJP Proceedings, please adhere to the following guidelines regarding manuscript types and their respective word limits:
1. Original Research Articles
Description: Detailed reports of novel research findings, including comprehensive data analysis, methodology, and results.
Word Limit:
- Main Text: 3,000 - 5,000 words
- Abstract: 150 - 250 words
- References: No strict limit, but should be relevant and concise.
Additional Information: Include all sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion. Figures and tables should be used to present data effectively.
2. Review Articles
Description: Comprehensive summaries and analyses of existing literature on a specific topic, identifying trends, gaps, and future directions.
Word Limit:
- Main Text: 4,000 - 6,000 words
- Abstract: 150 - 250 words
- References: Extensive, but should be relevant and updated. Typically, 40-80 references.
Additional Information: Organize by thematic or methodological sections. Provide a critical overview and synthesis of the literature.
3. Short Communications
Description: Brief reports on preliminary or significant findings that warrant rapid dissemination. These may include initial results or innovative techniques.
Word Limit:
- Main Text: Up to 1,500 words
- Abstract: 100 - 150 words
- References: Typically up to 15 references.
Additional Information: Should include a concise Introduction, Results, and Discussion. Figures and tables are encouraged but should be kept to a minimum.
4. Case Studies
Description: Detailed accounts of unique or novel cases that provide insights into practical applications or theoretical developments.
Word Limit:
- Main Text: 2,000 - 3,000 words
- Abstract: 100 - 150 words
- References: Up to 20 references.
Additional Information: Include sections such as Case Presentation, Discussion, and Conclusion. Emphasize the clinical relevance and implications of the case.
3. Submission Process
3.1. Online Submission
- Submission System: Manuscripts must be submitted through our online submission system. Register as an author if you have not already done so.
- Required Files: Upload the following files:
- Manuscript: Main document with all text and figures.
- Cover Letter: Letter to the editor explaining the significance of the research.
- Supplementary Files: Any additional material such as raw data or additional figures.
3.2. Manuscript Preparation
3.2.1. File Formats
- Text: Submit as a Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or LaTeX file.
- Figures: High-resolution images in TIFF, JPEG, or PNG format. Figures should be clear and of publication quality.
3.2.2. Structure
- Title Page: Include the manuscript title, full names of all authors, their affiliations, and the contact details of the corresponding author. Provide ORCID IDs if available.
- Abstract: A concise summary (150-250 words) including objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
- Keywords: 3-5 keywords that capture the essence of the manuscript.
- Introduction: Provide background information, state the research problem, and outline the study's objectives.
- Materials and Methods: Detail the experimental procedures, data collection methods, and statistical analyses used.
- Results: Present findings with text, tables, and figures. Ensure that results are clearly and logically presented.
- Discussion: Interpret the results in the context of existing literature. Discuss implications, limitations, and potential future research directions.
- Conclusion: Summarize key findings and their relevance.
- References: List all references in the style specified by the journal. Include complete citation details for all sources.
3.3. Ethical Compliance
- Human and Animal Rights: Confirm approval from relevant ethics committees. Include IRB number for human studies and IACUC approval for animal studies.
- Informed Consent: State that informed consent was obtained from participants, including details about the consent process.
- Conflict of Interest: Disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that could affect the study.
4. Formatting
4.1. General Formatting
- Font: Use Times New Roman, size 12.
- Line Spacing: Double-spaced throughout the manuscript.
- Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
- Page Numbers: Include page numbers on all pages, starting from the title page.
4.2. Headings and Subheadings
- Main Headings: Bold and centered.
- Subheadings: Bold and left-aligned. Use a hierarchical structure for subheadings to organize the content logically.
4.3. Tables and Figures
- Tables: Place tables within the manuscript text, after the relevant paragraph. Number tables sequentially and provide a descriptive caption.
- Figures: Submit figures as separate high-resolution files. Include a caption for each figure in the manuscript text.
5. Reference Style
References should follow the style specified by the journal, typically APA. Ensure that:
- In-Text Citations: Include author(s) and year in parentheses (e.g., Smith, 2020).
- Reference List: List references alphabetically by the last name of the first author. Include all necessary details: author(s), year of publication, title, journal name, volume, issue, and page numbers.
6. Revision and Resubmission
6.1. Addressing Reviewer Comments
- Revisions: If revisions are requested, address each comment in a detailed response. Make the necessary changes to the manuscript based on the reviewers' feedback.
6.2. Resubmission
- Revised Manuscripts: Submit revised manuscripts through the online system, including a cover letter detailing the changes made in response to reviewers' comments.
7. Ethical Considerations
7.1. Plagiarism
- Original Content: Ensure that all content is original and not previously published. Properly cite all sources to avoid plagiarism. Use plagiarism detection tools as necessary.
7.2. Conflicts of Interest
- Disclosure: Declare any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the research outcomes or interpretation.
8. Authors' Responsibilities
8.1. Contribution
- Authorship: All listed authors should have made significant contributions to the research and manuscript preparation. Confirm that all authors approve the final version of the manuscript.
8.2. Acknowledgments
- Credit: Acknowledge individuals or organizations that contributed to the research but did not qualify as authors.
9. Publication Ethics
9.1. Duplicate Submission
- Exclusive Submission: Do not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously. Ensure that the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere.
9.2. Redundant Publication
- Original Research: Avoid publishing the same research in multiple outlets. Ensure that the manuscript presents original findings and contributes new knowledge.
